Ever need to glue something where clamping or holding two things together is not an option? Cyanoacrylate (CA) glue is a fast-drying, industrial-strength adhesive. It’s useful for many applications, including electronics, home maintenance, and woodworking.
Because of its strength and quick-set, CA glue is perfect for installing your recone. After applying the glue, simply spray on the accelerator for a nearly instant setup. You can also apply glue to one surface, and accelerator to the other, then press them together. This can be risky – once it’s stuck, it’s stuck!
Beware, even though the glue is secure almost as soon as you spray on the accelerator, for long-term strength, it still needs to cure overnight. Don’t try to use a freshly glued reconed woofer before it has time to fully cure. While it may not come loose, it could affect the long-term hold of the glue against the internal motion of the woofer.
The GK-CA kits come in two different sizes. The 2 oz kit will cover more than one woofer recone, depending on the size and quantity. For big jobs, go for the 4 oz kit. Then you can have some for fix-it projects around the house.
The kit includes a 2 or 4 oz bottle of glue, and accelerator (with spray cap).
